Effective Instruction

Lesson Planning Template

The lesson planning template is intended to help teachers plan lessons in line with educational research. It incorporates the three principles of How Students Learn, Dylan William's Five Formative Assessment Strategies, and growth mindset.

How Students Learn
The book How Students Learn was published in 2005 to answer practical questions that confront every classroom teacher using the latest research on cognition, teaching, and learning. This volume buildings on the discoveries detailed in How People Learn. These findings are presented in a way that teachers can use to revitalize their work in the classroom in order to teach more effectively.
